Postal voting – We explain how it works

Anyone who is unable to come to the workplace for the works council election can apply for postal voting. To do this, you can have the postal voting documents sent to your home.

The works council elections in 2026 are important. After all, they concern our future and our jobs. That's why we need strong works councils.
However, due to mobile working or working from home, but also due to illness, business trips, or vacations, many employees are not at work on election days and are therefore unable to cast their vote.

Apply for postal voting as early as possible

You can apply for a postal vote by sending an informal email to the election committee with your address, personnel number, and your request to apply for a postal vote because you will be absent. You can find the election committee on the election notice posted at your workplace, on the intranet, or sent to you by email or post.

Please request your postal voting documents early enough

Consider postal delivery times

Please take postal delivery times into account for all applications and contact your election committee by telephone for urgent inquiries during the election period.

The key point is that postal voting documents must be received on time. At Volkswagen, the documents must be received by the election committee by 9:00 a.m. on March 13, 2026.
